Anxiety Counselling

Many people have challenges with controlling anxiety. Anxiety can manifest in different ways, including phobias (like fear of leaving the house, fear of pain or fear of spiders), panic attacks (when you experience episodes of intense physical symptoms and fear related to anxiety), social anxiety (fear of social interaction) and generalized anxiety. Anxiety may also be linked to a history of trauma.

Everyone experiences anxiety at some time or another, however when anxiety is more persistent or when it interferes with your ability to live your life it is important to talk to your health provider and seek help!

Counselling has been shown to be a helpful treatment for anxiety. Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a form of counselling that is often recommended for people with anxiety. CBT teaches you how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours work together and helps you learn what you can do to change these factors. You may be able to identify unhelpful thoughts or behaviours and replace them with better strategies.

Our counsellor has lots of experience helping people with anxiety manage their symptoms and get back to enjoying their life!
